Interested in sharing your collection at the Central Park Library?

This program encourages children and teens to share their collections on temporary display at the library for other youth and families to enjoy - it's a visual sharing experience!

Shared collections will be displayed in a locked window/cabinet space in the Youth Services Area for one month at a time.

Priority will be given for children and teens ages 5-18 living in Santa Clara.

Collections may not include weapons (including toy weapons, like water guns), depictions of violence, derogatory images, or offensive language.

FAQs

How do I sign up to share my collection?

Child and parent/guardian should complete this form together.

How will I know if my collection will go on display?

Library staff will contact parents/guardians at least one month in advance of their child’s turn. Patrons should not expect to hear from staff for a while as the line to participate is expected to get long quickly, and each collection will be on display for a month.

How will the library decide whose collections to display?

Priority will be given to Santa Clara residents ages 5-18. Aside from this priority, children and teens will be selected in the order they apply.

Can adults participate?

This program is for children ages 5-18.

Can siblings share the collection space at the same time?

Yes! Siblings can apply together if they are okay with sharing the space.

Will my collection be safe/secure?

Collections will be displayed in a locked cabinet with a window at the Youth Services desk. When you arrive to drop off your collection, library staff will unlock the cabinet for you to place your collection in the cabinet the way you want it to be. The collection will remain locked in the cabinet until you collect it at the end of the month.

How/when do I pick-up my collection?

Please plan to pick up your collection during the last week of the month. We will send you a reminder in advance. If you leave your collection beyond that time, we may remove it to allow the next child or teen to display their collection. If so, we cannot guarantee its safety. We prefer you handle your own display materials.

How often can I share a collection at the library?

You may submit an application once per 12 month period. For example, if you apply in May 2025, please wait until May 2026 to apply again. This allows more children to participate.

Can my collection be displayed at Mission Branch Library or Northside Branch Library?

We hope to have display spaces at the branches soon, but for now we just have one space at Central Park Library. However, youth from any branch may participate as long as they can drop-off and pick-up their collections in a timely manner at Central Park Library.
