Get Help with Reading, Writing, and Math

It’s never too late to learn to read and write better! If you need help, you are not alone.

Read Santa Clara services are free. Work with a trained volunteer tutor at a time that is good for you. Learn to read and write better so you can read to a child, fill out forms, understand health information, and more. Tutors meet with learners one-to-one or in small groups.

Read Santa Clara Learners:
  • are 18 or older
  • are not in high school or in a degree-granting program
  • speak and understand English
  • need basic reading, writing and math help
  • can meet with a tutor for two hours a week

Sign up for an orientation to learn more about the program.

If you or someone you know would like to become a learner, call 408-615-2956 or email readsantaclara@santaclaraca.gov.

“I am a 52-year-old man. All my life, I have had reading and writing difficulties. Three years ago, I came to Read Santa Clara. Today, I’m reading the best I’ve ever read in my life. My reading is helping me on my job, in my relationships with my family, and with my self-esteem.” – Ron, Read Santa Clara learner
